Models with bright red lips are all over the runway right now, but you don’t have to wait until those new spring fashions arrive to add a little pop of red to your pout–red lips are perfect for fall, too.
To find your most flattering shades, look for lipsticks or glosses that match your skintone. If you have fair, pink-y skin, look for a cherry red shade. If your skin has olive tones, opt for a brighter, fire engine red (slightly more orange than the cherry red). Dark skinned girls look great with pretty much any shade of red (lucky you!), but deeper shades, or shades with a dash of purple, really stand out.
Here are a few of my favorite shades:
Nvey Eco Advanced Lip Color ($28) in Rust Red Shine and Red Orange Slight Shimmer.

I mentioned my growing obsession with Revolution Organics Lip Gloss in August, when they held a place of honor in the sidebar, but I wanted to share a little bit more about exactly why I love this stuff (and Revolution Organics in general). One look at their products and you’ll never be able to think of organic makeup as ho-hum. From the chic, sleek packaging to the rich, bright colors, this isn’t your grandmother’s makeup—but I’m pretty sure she’ll love it as much as you will.
What I tried: Revolution Organics Beauty Balm (in blushed and bronzed), Revolution Organics All-Over Skin Crème, Revolution Organics Lip Gloss.
