Beauty Obsession: Aucocisco Naturals

I’m always on the hunt for affordable, natural products. For me, cost is one of the biggest factors (along with those ingredients lists) when it comes to choosing cosmetics, and I know I’m not the only one. Sure, I splurge once in a while, but the majority of the products I reach for day after day aren’t going to break the bank. Today’s review is proof that there are powerful, effective, and luxurious products out there that don’t make your bank account tremble in fear.

What I tried: Apricot & Black Seed Serum, $11.50*

First impressions: It smells…like oat bran. Which makes sense, actually, because this serum is a blend of black seed oil (more on that later), apricot seed oil, and rice bran oil. And it’s a huge bargain—this serum comes in a 2-oz. bottle, which is a lot, especially considering you’ll only need about three to five drops for your face and neck.

What caught me by surprise: It’s versatile. In the several weeks that I’ve been using the serum, I’ve tested it on my face (including under my eyes), my feet (soothing), my neck and decollete (smoothing), and my elbows (healing). What I like about this serum in comparison to other oils I’ve tried is that it doesn’t take long to absorb—I could use it on my heels at my desk and immediately slide my feet back into my shoes without worrying about them slipping all over the place.

Bonus: The main ingredient, black seed oil (also known as nigella sativa), has been used for skincare for thousands of years—it was even coveted by the ancient Egyptians. It has anti-aging, anti-fungal, and antibacterial properties (a great option for acne-prone skin!), and is supremely moisturizing.
