Me, c. 2001, on a backpacking trip over the continental divide in Colorado.
Next week, Ian and I are heading to Denver. I haven’t been to Colorado in more than 10 years (time flies!), and I’m psyched. I’m sure the city has changed a lot over the past decade, and I’m hoping to check out some natural beauty shops and maybe even a spa/salon while I’m there. (Including a visit to meet the lovely Sarah Villafranco of Osmia Organics in person. Yay!) If you have suggestions of places I should check out while I’m there, please share!
Here’s what else I’ve been thinking about this week:
- Apparently the FDA is concerned about the amount of arsenic in rice. This rocks my world a little bit, because apparently there is a bigger problem with arsenic in brown rice—and I almost always opt for brown rice instead of white.
- 6 Natural Deodorants That Get the Job Done, from The Organic Authority. I’m always surprised when Florere doesn’t get a mention in these deodorant roundups. And I’ve recently tested a not-yet-on-the-market deodorant from a favorite brand (hopefully will be able to share something about that soon!). Plus, I’ve just started testing Soapwalla for myself, so be on the lookout for a post from me about this subject soon. Do you have a fave natural deodorant?
- I’m loving this list from MindBodyGreen: Gandhi’s Top 10 Fundamentals for Changing the World. I might just have to print this one out and tack it up next to my desk…
- Remember way back when I was on the hunt for a natural version of this eye-brightening pencil I haven’t been able to give up? Well. I may have finally found its natural replacement: this Eye-Illuminating Duo from Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics. I must get my hands on one. Have you tried it?
