I was excited to see natural skincare pro Tata Harper in the November issue of Whole Living. (You subscribe to this great magazine, right?)
Tata’s story of investigating the connection between her cosmetics and her health resonates with me for obvious reasons—her “a-ha moment” arrived just after her stepfather was diagnosed with cancer several years ago. When her family brought him to the Mayo Clinic for treatment, they were specifically asked to bring along his personal care products. Turns out, his doctors wanted to make sure that he stuck with natural products, since your body absorbs much of what you put on your skin.
It sounds so simple, doesn’t it? But unless you’re really thinking about how your products work (and what they’re made of), it’s easy to overlook. Especially if you don’t know just how loosely the cosmetics industry is regulated. Check out the interview for more of Tata’s story, plus loads of skincare advice and photos of her home and farm.
Did you have an a-ha moment like Tata? Have you tried her products? They’re definitely on the pricier side, ranging from $50-$150. I’m coveting her Restorative Eye Creme. —Aleigh
