Beauty Obsession: Ruby Lips

Models with bright red lips are all over the runway right now, but you don’t have to wait until those new spring fashions arrive to add a little pop of red to your pout–red lips are perfect for fall, too.

To find your most flattering shades, look for lipsticks or glosses that match your skintone. If you have fair, pink-y skin, look for a cherry red shade. If your skin has olive tones, opt for a brighter, fire engine red (slightly more orange than the cherry red). Dark skinned girls look great with pretty much any shade of red (lucky you!), but deeper shades, or shades with a dash of purple, really stand out.

Here are a few of my favorite shades:

Nvey Eco Advanced Lip Color ($28) in Rust Red Shine and Red Orange Slight Shimmer.

Revolution Organics Freedom Lip Gloss ($26) in Freedom, which I’ve written about before…)

Dr. Hauschka lipstick ($23.95), in the #4 shade

Logona Lipstick ($17.95) in Pure Red

Beauty Without Cruelty lipstick ($22.95) in Cerise and Day Lily

Do you wear red lipstick? Why or why not?
